Since our inception in 1987, the Litter Control & Beautification Program of Monroe County has worked diligently at keeping our county litter-free and a desirable place to live and visit. The objectives of our beautification projects are designed to upgrade the physical appearance of our county by focusing on three major factors:
1) Cleanliness of public roadways, streets, sidewalks, and public and private properties
2) Landscaping of commercial, residential and public properties, such as interchanges
3) Educating municipalities on the importance of comprehensive signage ordinances and promoting signage excellence
